I recently read some advertisements online by a web development company that said that a website is a business card. This sort of thing I might expect from someone who is not in our industry and has no concept of all of the amazing benefits that are derived from maintaining an active and optimized website, however, not from a web development and supposedly SEO company!
Not only did they state this, but it was the banner for one of their business web pages!
The fact is that a business card is for handing out and putting in a rollodex, if anyone even uses those anymore! They are for proving to other people that you are making the tiniest bit of effort with your business and for dropping in those fishbowls at restaurants to receive a free meal if your card gets picked.
Write your name and number down on a piece of paper and make it look pretty and hand it out! There’s your business card.
